I have a aluminum flat bed. The problem is my filler line is almost level to the tank and when I fill up I to run the pump very so to fast or it shoots fuel out, seems like an hour to fill the truck, never mind the fuel on the shoes. Any ideas to relocate the filler in another place. I maybe could raise the bed up but I like it a the height it is Any ideas, doesn't seem like a lot of trucks have flatbeds. Photos would be great.....thanks

Hey all
Just used a 3M lens restoration kit for by rear cabin light as well as my front two headlights. Normal yellow fade etc from sun and time.

The results were amazing - I would say honestly a 90+% improvement. Takes 3 or 4 takes of using various grit sandpaper followed by rubbing compound at end - but really effective.

Will post picks in the morning.

Has Anyone ever had their radio short out?
I know there has to be a short somewhere. One day as I was listening to the radio I parked and shut off the truck to do some errands. When I started the truck up again I didn't notice that the radio didn't go back on until I was almost back at home.
After a few weeks of not having anything to listen to, I noticed after I started the truck up to go somewhere the radio went back on!
I search all my fuses and even changed them out and look for any shorts. I even removed the bezel front from the dash and couldn't find a thing.
Right now I am dead in the water.
Does anyone have any thoughts of anything I may have over looked?
Thanks
Steve

Just like the title says, I have been paying special attention to my air filter setup, and have noticed that even a brand spanking new mopar air box will let dust into the motor. It just wont seal adequately. I will not use a k&n filter or the like, stock style paper is the best imho or a bhaf. I love the new air filter design for the 03-07 trucks, it has pleats that are about 6 inches tall!!! BEEFY!!! And it seems like the newer air box seals better. SO... Because I don't have a 3rd gen box to measure, does anybody know if the stock air intake tube will fit over it? I will figure out how to bolt it down to the inner fender. Also, anybody able to find any on ebay? I looked and couldn't find any!!! Weird!

ahhhhhh!!!!!!! me and my dog came in to the shop to install onboard air on my dodge today and i spent the better part of the day installing air compressors in the tool box, holding tanks in and under the bed, wiring up sensors and pressure gauges. figured i would check the system out before installing quick connects on the bumpers front and rear, found and repaired a few leaks and watched the pressure build and all of a sudden i blew a fuse on one compressor, checked wiring and cooled off unit tried again and pop. this sucks then found second compressor leaking at head gasket. well i guess thats what i get for installing cut-offs from a mini truck. oh-well guess ill do a right up on disassembling and rebuilding air compressors if i can find parts.

If i pull all the relays the tach will still bounce.
After i remove the key the relay in the cab still clicks. What should i do?

Sometimes i have no codes when it does this.

If i start the truck when the tach is bouncing i can drive it and it runs fine. The engine light will be on and i can get 8 or so codes.

I can clear all of them and it will be fine for a day or so. None of the 8 codes are real. The truck runs fine.shifts fine.

It does this with 2 different pcm's
It does this with 2 different ecm's

What should i check ?thank you.

I have a story to share!

Within a week of the day that I bought my truck, I had an accident.

Nope not vehicle! It was my truck verses a shopping cart at Walmart!

As the wife and I were leaving a Walmart store a shopping cart came out from between two cars and Pow hit my right rear fender.

Well I was moving about 15 miles per hour and it was moving at a unknown speed.

It broke my fender! -- split it --- split was almost the whole length of fender running up and down to the bottom

I went imediatley to the manager and we took pictures. Then I went to a body shop and got an estimate

The price of the fender alone was like over a thousand dollars I gave the estimate to walmart.

total bill was like around $1,800 if i remember correctly.

Believe it or not they paid me. Sent a check.

Ok thats not the story yet!

I went to the paint store and got a pint of matching paint and thinner etc.

They asked me why don't you repair it yourself! and then they said we sell a plastic repair thay you mix up like body filler. They said it is mainly used on bumper repairs, but would work on the fender.

Ok I bought some, not very costly. I went home and took out the rear fender well and it was very easy.

on the inside it was very clean. So i worked the fender back into what was near the original postion, and put some air conditioning aluminum tape on the inside of the fender to hold it in place.

Mind you this tape you cant get at lowes or home depot or wherever. This tape is made of pure aluminum with sticky on one side. Just peel and stick.

It is some tuff stuff. Ok after putting the tape on it was almost like it had never been hit.

Now I took my dremel tool with a small rotary file in it and sat down and slowly ground out the crack so it was almost all the way through. It is very easy to tell when your almost through you can see the broken area.. I did that all the way down the fender top to bottom, and then mixed up the plastic repair putty and smeared it in the crack, leaving it slightly higher then the fender.

Now I used a rotary sander -- my wood sander -- sanded it smooth and put some primer on it.

Off to the body shop! payed them $100 to spray paint the fender with my paint.

That was in 2003 here it is 2010 and it still is holding great and can't be seen.

So for me I had a net income of about $1500 for a days work!

That is my story and maybee it might come in handy for someone else here that has a broken fender on the rear of their dodge truck

I have a 2002 Dodge 2500 that a couple of days ago started giving me trouble.

When you go to start the truck after the "wait to start" light goes out you get nothing, no clicking noise or anything, just dead like the lights were left on and drained the batteries. Try and start it 3 or 4 times and bingo it starts up like nothing was ever wrong.

The bad thing is it doesn't do it every time.

Both batteries were new 3/14/08

The truck has no codes

I'm going to clean the battery and starter connections, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue before.

Thanks Dwayne
